Major Russian Attacks Cut Power In Kyiv

Energy infrastructure under attack in Ukraine
The country's power facilities have come under escalating attacks in recent weeks

Overnight, Russian aerial assaults have led to electricity outages in extensive areas of the capital city, the Ukrainian capital.

A number of civilians were hurt while inhabitants in eastern districts were plunged into darkness and dealt with interruptions to drinking water, per reports from local authorities.

Simultaneously, a minor was lost their life in a different assault in the Zaporizhzhia region in the country's south-east, according to area administrators.

Russian forces has increased strikes on power infrastructure over recent weeks, while officials has demanded "real steps" from international partners to exert influence on Russia.

"What is required is not superficial actions but strong steps - from the US, European nations and the G7 - in supplying protection systems and implementing sanctions," was stated in a public message.

Officials stated that 450 drones and over thirty rockets targeted Ukraine's energy infrastructure, labeling such assaults as "strategic and deliberate" and against "essential services" as temperatures become colder.

Government representatives said Russia was "launching a major assault" and repair crews were working to fix the damage.

A series of attacks damaged energy infrastructure and apartment buildings in the capital.

Five out of the nine people wounded in the assaults on the capital have been taken to hospital, as confirmed by city authorities.

Local officials said the city came under heavy assaults throughout the evening. A seven-year-old child lost their life and three other people were wounded.

The attacks succeed periods of bombing campaigns in the territory, portions of which remain under the control of Russian forces.

All of Ukraine is in a state of readiness for sophisticated projectile assaults, which are tougher to identify.

Government officials told journalists that Russia was deliberately attempting to destroy the national power system, with strikes already affecting fuel infrastructure.

Officials stated technical personnel and government agencies were bracing for additional strikes.
